About Us

Last seen in Weston in 1972 Weston Dairy Festival will be returning to the beach lawns on the 29th July for a 5 day event celebrating South West Agriculture, Food and produce. The five day event has been sponsored and supported by local businesses, local community groups and local government.

Wednesday to Friday will be the livestock days where you will be able to see cows being milked, sheep being sheared and see various animals being prepared for showing, this will all take place in our arena, inside the main marquee you can meet and chat to our sponsors, try our local produce, come and see the animals in the petting zoo as well as take part in various activities that Kewstoke Youth and community show will be putting on. Throughout the 5 days we will have a good stock of animals including Jersey Cows, Pigs, Sheep, Shire Horses, Miniature Donkeys and Alpacas. Thursday is Poultry Day, we will have pure bred birds, a Poultry sale and all equipment associated with Poultry, experts will be at hand to give advice on all aspects of keeping birds, this will take place in the main marquee. Within the Marquee there is a bar area serving locally produced Beers and Ciders and our caterers will be cooking locally produced foods, the organisers have made it a policy that all food served will be from local companies, our bakers on site , our cheese company and our butchers will all be supplying the caterer, this is a real celebration of local produce and food and all involved are proud to promoting local farmers and producers.

In the arena area you can come and watch Sheep Shearing, Cow Clipping, the famous Dog and Duck show, cow milking and various Shire Horse Parades, next to this will be the livestock area where you can get close to real working farm animals as well as touch and learn about animals in our Petting Zoo. Over 30 Tractors, combine harvesters and farm machines will be on show some dating back to the 1950's , to keep the children happy we have Bouncy Castles, Children's Rides and stalls.

Friday evening is Barn Dance night, this is a free event however it is ticketed, you can request tickets from events@outdooreventsuk.co.uk, Hobsons Choice one of the top Barn Dance Bands in the South West will be taking to the stage, as well as playing some fantastic music they will be teaching Line Dancing , this is a family event and all ages are welcome.

Saturday will be a huge Craft Fair with over 50 stalls offering there good, as well as this you can sit back and listen to some of the best local acoustic artists around, as the Craft Fair finishes there is no need to go home as we have a full evening of entertainment in the way of Music and Dance from two local bands, both the bar and catering outlet will be open until we finish at 10pm.

Sunday will see local food producers from all around the area offering top quality produce from Cheese to Meats and Cakes to Chillies while you are browsing around the stalls you can listen to some laid back acoustic sets. Over the five days local charities, organisations and advice groups will be onsite to answer any questions about what they do and what they are about.

Organisers of the event have certainly had their eyes open while planning it, in 1972 it was a lot easier to transport animals, Health & Safety did not exist and farmers just pitched up, showed their livestock as and when they wanted to. The events organisers are very excited to bring back an event that allot of people locally still remember , they have planned a fantastic 5 days that is based to educate both Children and Adults on healthy living, quality produce and how important the farming community is to this region. Anyone wanting more information on the event please email events@outdooreventsuk.co.uk.
