Say Hallo to Halloween...if you dare
There's loads going on for Halloween - including what is being billed as the the newest and most terrifying haunted attraction in the south west. The question is: Are you brave enough to be a part of it? Click on the red links to discover more.
Puxton Park has sent out a chilling warning that it will bring your worst nightmares to life when Puxton Phobia takes over the normally tranquil park on 21st, 26th, 27th & 28th October 2023. The park will be transformed to include five haunted attractions including a Haunted Tractor Ride, which is a hayride from hell which willl have you begging for mercy. Then there's the Dolls House where your childhood nightmares come back to life. Or Ayslum where sinister inmates with malevolent eyes lurk in the shadows, waiting to pounce. Then there's the Freak Show where you will step into a world of hallucinations and insanity as your childhood fears of clowns and all things hellish are rudely awakened. Prepare for a sensory overload which will leave you questioning your own sanity. And finally there's The Dark Wood where behind the trees lurking in the shadows creatures are watching your every move, sensing your fear, and waiting to unleash their terror. Participants must be at least 12 years old, Under 16s must be accompanied by an adult and people with certain health conditions and pregnant women are advised not to sign up.
There's a zombie outbreak at Mendip Activity Centre - and you're invited to take up arms whether it be air rifles, arrows or axes as part of the Zombie Response Team. All the centre's archery, air rifle, axe throwing, archery active and tobogganing sessions between 6th - 31st October are Halloween themed.
The tobogganing is for Under 12s where fancy dress is encouraged and trick or treats are on hand.
Weston's famous Grand Pier is promising a week of spooktacular entertainment from October 21-29 including a spooky scavenger hunt, a pumpkin themed trail where you can get up and personal with the Wicked Witch and discover her magical potions and cauldron! There's also face painting, where you can be transformed into a scary character as well as Pop Goes the Pumpkin where you could end up with a trick or treat.
Puxton Park's Pumpkin Patch, opens on October 7, and has more than 60,000 pumpkins to choose from. It's free to enter but it does cost to pick the pumpkins. From October 7, the patch will be open from 10am to 4pm every weekend and every day during the October half-term.
Are you ready for a night of spine-tingling fun and electrifying entertainment at Ocean Adventurers' adult-only Halloween Party on October 28 from 7.30pm until 10.30pm. Get your costumes ready and prepare for a night in Cheddar you'll never forget. You will step into a Laser Tag Frenzy where you must navigate your way, dodging laser beams, and outwitting your opponents to emerge victorious in a heart-pounding adventure. You will also need to unleash your inner detective as you scour the haunted grounds for hidden pumpkins. There will also be Karaoke Coven and a fancy dress competition.
Ocean Adventurers in Cheddar are inviting children to their Halloween Party evenings on Friday 27th and Saturday 28th October
from 5pm until 7pm. The event features a fancy dress competition, pumpkin hunt, Zombie lazer tag, foam finale, Karaoke, glowsticks & face paints as well as Halloween themed food and drink.
The Tropicana is the place to be on Friday, October 27 when the indoor venue gets a spooky makeover and hosts its Indoor 90s Festival featuring Retro 90's Anthems & Classics, jaw dropping visuals, performers & giveaways. From 8pm until 1am.
International magician Richard Griffin will be proving some extra mystery and magic to the Riverside Holiday Village's Halloween Party and disco on Saturday 28th October from 7.30pm at The Kingfisher Club, Riverside Holiday Village, Bleadon. It's free to attend and you don't have to be staying at the holiday park.
Murder Mystery Evening
Michelangelo's restaurant on Knightstone Road, Weston are hosting what they describe as 'a fang-tanstic' three-course evening meal where as well as enjoying great food you will be kept on the edge of your seats as the mystery unravels. This October 30 event is ticket-only with tickets available from 01934 708342.
Back From the Dead - musical tribute
The Winter Gardens is promising to transport you on a spine-chilling and unforgettable night of entertainment on October 28th. That's when it is hosting its Halloween extravaganza featuring the legendary tribute performances of Elvis Presley, Amy Winehouse, and Meat Loaf. It is billed as a 'show like no other, with three iconic artists brought to life on stage in an electrifying and eerie tribute.'
