About Us

The stunning Chaplain's House offers a unique experience to live in Victorian style on the Tyntesfield National Trust estate, as well as enjoying all the comforts of a charming restored house.

It was originally built as a residence for the Gibbs family's chaplain, a prestigious role as demonstrated in the quality of the original features, many of which are also found in the main house at Tyntesfield. Built between 1889 and 1891 in the dramatic Gothic Revival style, this imposing building is set on the edge of the formal National Trust Tyntesfield gardens and wider estate, which guests are welcome to enjoy, along with a complimentary visit to the main house.

The spacious and beautifully restored property is laid out over three floors and provides a rare opportunity to live in style on a country estate.

There is an interconnecting door between Chaplain's House and Chaplain's Lodge enabling larger parties (groups up to 11 people)  to enjoy these beautiful properties. (The inter-connecting door remains locked unless both properties are booked together).
